This week I was thrilled to create and write the feature essay for the Today Parent’s newest “Challenge”. My idea was to challenge moms across the country to embrace their ‘mom bods’ and tell us why the love them. The amazing Parent editor Terri Peters loved it so I created the Why I Love My Mom Bod Challenge with three goals in mind: Get mothers thinking about insecurities that possibly hold them back from being fully present with their childrenCelebrate mom bodies in all their glory and how they come in all shapes and sizesAnd most importantly, how to instill a positive body image in our children by leading by example Not only did Today Parents share my essay, but the Today Show did from https://mccalldempsey.com/a-letter-to-my-today-show-mom-bod-haters/ from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/06/a-letter-to-my-today-show-mom-bod-haters.html from https://johnher1.wordpress.com/2019/06/21/a-letter-to-my-today-show-mom-bod-haters/ from https://helentyler1.blogspot.com/2019/06/a-letter-to-my-today-show-mom-bod-haters.html

It echoed remarks by former vice president and Democratic candidate Joe Biden on the stump last week in Iowa: “I promise you, if I’m elected president, you’re going to see the single most important thing that changes America: We’re going to cure cancer.” “Let’s cure cancer” is hardly a new political ambition. Now, a group of UConn neuroscientists have a lead as to why. Many neurologists argue that a bad seizure can travel through the brain to cause breathing or heartbeat malfunction, and that’s what kills. But epileptics can die suddenly without having an obvious seizure. Instead, the researchers have evidence a genetic mutation that causes the seizures also disrupts the cells that control breathing. from https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/06/190620164642.htm from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/06/epilepsy-and-sudden-death-linked-to-bad.html from https://johnher1.wordpress.com/2019/06/21/epilepsy-and-sudden-death-linked-to-bad-gene/ from https://helentyler1.blogspot.com/2019/06/epilepsy-and-sudden-death-linked-to-bad.html The big question regarding Alzheimer’s disease has always been why only some people suffer this form of dementia. While being overweight clearly increases the risk of dementia, and it is easy to argue that this is because of the chronic inflammation generated by visceral fat tissue, not every overweight individual progresses to the point of Alzheimer’s disease. Some people who are not overweight suffer Alzheimer’s disease. The condition starts with rising levels of amyloid-β aggregates forming in the brain, thought to be a progressive process occurring over a decade or more prior to any clinical symptoms, but why does this only happen to some people? The attractive nature of the various infection hypotheses of Alzheimer’s disease is that they can answer this question.
